Tira Ora Historic Lodge was built as an original homestead, and served as the Post Office, and school in the Pelorus Sound.

The foundation Original building is still intack, complete with a slate billiard table, and piano, and open fire place.

Restoration & repairs are on going, to the original building, additional wings and covered decks have been added.

Tira Ora Historic Lodge now has a reception area, bar & Billiard room, Blue Leather Lounge Suite around the original fireplace, extensive library room, music room,Chapel, Dinning Rooms and decorations to Celebrate every occassion, Large Kitchen with wood-stove, and walk in Pantry.  Step into the original Post office room, for a stamp, and read History of this site.

Tira Ora Historic Lodge is  the private dinining, entertainment and indoor relaxation area for Chalette Guests.

Our Historic Lodge can be booked for Special Occassions, including Weddings, Anniversaries, Birthdays and Events listed on our Calander.
